Employee Match Programs

Corporate matching gifts are a type of philanthropy in which companies financially match donations that their employees make to nonprofit organizations. When an employee makes a donation, they’ll request a matching gift from their employer. The employer then makes their own donation to the nonprofit. Typically, companies only need a receipt as proof of contribution and a single form requesting that they match the donation. Provide these (and any other required materials) promptly to the appropriate personnel at your company, likely the Human Resources department or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team. Oftentimes companies put money aside to be donated to nonprofits in the manner and millions each year go unclaimed, oftentimes due to employees not realizing their company even has this option to give back.

Many employers also offer Employee Giving campaigns that allow workers to contribute to a non-profit organization of their choice via payroll deductions. Check with your Human Resources department to see if this is possible and if Guayabo Animal Rescue qualifies as we are a legally registered nonprofit in Costa Rica, as well as in the United States. Learn how to include us if we are not.
