Guayabo Area
Located on 350 acres in Guayabo de Bagaces, in Costa Rica’s scenic Guanacaste Province, we are less than one hour from the renovated Liberia airport. Driving here is easy with cleared roads all the way to the driveway.
The town of Guayabo is a mile away on Route 164, where you’ll find delicious restaurants, bakeries, cute shops, boutiques, a pharmacy, a fresh produce market and grocery store, bars, and a bank. This is rural Costa Rica and the vibe is happy – Pura Vida style for sure!
There are many activities near our rescue; including relaxing hot springs, breathtaking hiking (for all levels), biking, and more. The beaches are only 90 minutes away by car — and our favorites are Playas del Coco and Playa Ocotal.
When you visit our old-growth forest, you might see the howler monkey troupe that live in the area (especially if the mangoes are ripe), as well as parrots, colorful and rare butterflies, such as the Blue Morpho Butterfly, and even an elusive sloth. There are many more types of wildlife awaiting your discovery.
