It Takes a Team—and an Army—to Save Lives

At Guayabo Animal Rescue, saving animals is a team effort. Every single day.

Behind every animal rescued, treated, fed, comforted, and ultimately given a better future is an incredible group of people working together—often doing far more than anyone ever sees.

Our team rescues animals in need, welcomes new arrivals, cleans and maintains the property, and makes sure the animals in our care are safe, healthy, and loved. But animal care is only the beginning.

We welcome guests staying at our villas and introduce them to the animals and the mission behind our work. Schoolchildren visit and we help teach the next generation about compassion, kindness, responsible pet ownership, and humane treatment of animals. These moments matter because changing the future for animals begins with changing hearts and minds.

And then there is everything happening behind the scenes

Our team fundraises. We create marketing materials. We manage social media and our website. We answer messages, coordinate supporters, keep financial records, work with accountants, communicate with board members, plan projects, solve problems, and somehow keep everything moving forward.

There is no such thing as “that’s not my job” when an animal needs help.

That spirit is what makes our team special. People step in, pitch in, and work together because the mission comes first. Some days that means rescuing an animal. Other days it means cleaning, answering emails, meeting with a donor, posting an adoption story, helping a villa guest, or figuring out how we are going to pay the next veterinary bill. But even the strongest team cannot do this alone.

We need an army of support around us

We need donors, volunteers, adopters, businesses, community partners, social media supporters, visitors, and people willing simply to tell someone else about our work.

Not everyone can rescue an animal from the street—but everyone can play a part in saving one.
