Guayabo Animal Rescue is located in beautiful Guayabo de Bagaces, a rural community located in the Guanacaste Province. We are close to hot springs, great dining, hiking, a national park featuring a volcano with breathtaking waterfalls, rafting, and more. We are only one hour from the Liberia Airport, with easily navigable roadways – right up to our driveway.
Guests can reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape as we sit on 300 acres in a natural forest preserve. Experience unique day trips and lodging opportunities and meet our loving rescue and sanctuary animals.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a caring staff that speak both English and Spanish. Guests will enjoy touring the property on foot, by ATV, or on horseback, and visiting with our rescue dogs, horses, cows, and goats. Enjoy our orchids, and experience our delicious honey harvested right on the property. All while taking in the amazing views of the Miravalles Volcano seen from almost every location on our property.
Each of our two villas are very spacious as they are 1700 sq. ft., and have two large bedrooms with attached bathrooms. Each villa has a full kitchen equipped with a lot of amenities, wrap around porch, air conditioning, high speed internet, flat screen TV, and a washer and dryer. Each villa is one level and accommodate up to four adults, or two adults and two children. Special arrangements can be made for toddlers.
There is also a protected gazebo next to the villas with an outdoor kitchen to enjoy a BBQ or the expansive views 360 views. Overnight stays can include a daily visit to our hen house for fresh eggs and our own harvested honey.

Villas include:
- 2 bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other with either a king-size bed or two twin-size beds
- 2 bathrooms, with both including a glass-block walk-in shower and one includes a bidet
- Hot water throughout
- Air-conditioning, with separate controls for each bedroom and common area

Note: If your party requires additional space please let us know as we might be able to accommodate. Each bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed and it has 1 1/2 bathrooms. Its kitchen appliances (6-burner gas stove, refrigerator/freezer and ice-maker) are all commercial-grade.
