At Guayabo Animal Rescue, we’re dedicated to ensuring that animals have a voice and are protected, loved, and nurtured. Our team works tirelessly to care for sick or injured animals, offer support to pet owners, educate future generations in animal care, and create a haven for the over 100 animals who call our sanctuary home.
I’m incredibly proud of our team and grateful to our community for embracing this life-saving work. Guests from as far away as Australia and as close as in our own town have stayed in our beautiful villas, making our eco-tourism accommodations not only a peaceful escape but also our primary source of funding. By staying with us, guests directly contribute to our mission and help save lives.
A recent story highlights the power of teamwork and compassion: Tony and Gina, guests from Georgia, USA, were attending a conference three hours from Guayabo Animal Rescue when they found a severely emaciated, scared young dog alone on the beach. They named him Chance. Realizing he was very sick, they reached out to us for help, extending their trip and driving him to our sanctuary. They even stayed a few nights to volunteer, and after meeting our animals, they were inspired to host a fundraiser among family and friends, raising $1,500. Chance is now healthy, happy, and awaiting adoption—all thanks to their kindness and commitment.
